First Impressions Are Very Important In Any Market!

If you are selling your home, it is very important that it shows as well as possible. As the saying goes, "You never get a second chance to make a first impression". It's not uncommon for buyers to see a dozen homes before making a decision. The appearance of your home is compared to many others in this decision process.

But if you don't want to sell your home, here are:

5 Ways To Make Buyers Hate Your House

1. Odors. House odors are number one on the home selling 'No No' list. Cigarette smoke and pets take top billing, with mildew not far behind. Eradicate the odors so you can present a clean, fresh atmosphere.

2. Dogs that Meet You at the Door. Even though I'm a dog lover, dogs frighten some buyers and irritate others. Show respect for your buyers by removing them during showings.

3.  Messy Kitchens and Dirty Bathrooms. Kitchens and bathrooms sell the house. Dirty dishes and grimy bathrooms are an instant turnoff. Do whatever it takes to make these rooms shine.

4. Dimly Lit Rooms and Clutter. Dark homes don't attract buyers. Replace dimly lit light fixtures. Turn the lights on. Open the drapes to let the sunshine in. Repaint if necessary with light colours. And above all, get rid of the clutter. Make your rooms feel spacious.

5.  Damp Basement. Dampness is a sign of a leaky basement. Investigate the cause and remove the dampness.
